Making my own baby food seems time consuming. How much time does it take?

This depends on the food and how many ingredients you’re including, but on average we hear from mums that it takes 30-45 minutes to make a few weeks worth of baby food, from start to finish. If you make smaller batches, it’ll take less time. Mums also tell us the time spent is worth it, providing a sense of craft and creativity, as well as shared time with little ones in the kitchen and of course superior nutritional benefits.

What do I need to make my own baby food?

In general, mums who make their own baby food usually have devices to cook, blend and mash food to the correct consistency for their baby, like a puree for beginners or a mash as they grow. If not, our line includes all of the tools you’ll need, and all are designed for easy use as well as easy clean up. You may already have a few tools in the kitchen that will do the job!

How do you store homemade baby food?

Our Fresh Squeezed System offers the latest in convenient storing technology, but people also use a combination of ice cube trays and plastic zip bags. Food is made in batches and then typically frozen. Food can be frozen for up to two months and food placed directly in the refrigerator can be served for up to 48 hours according to U.S. Food Safety Guidelines.

What is the benefit of the Fresh Squeezed System?

Our unique system is the first product to let you press, store and serve homemade baby food from a convenient pouch. We offer both single-use and reusable pouches with our system. Our single-use pouches store very easily in the freezer – making the best use of your space. You can also take them directly from the freezer, ready to go and serve directly from pouch. You can also pair with our Couple of Spoons, which attaches to the end of the pouch and squeezes the puree right onto the spoon for easy feeding.

What’s the best way to warm-up my squeeze pouch?

Simply place your squeeze pouch into a bowl of warm water for a few minutes to reheat. This will help it gently thaw and warm the food. Remember to always test the temperature before feeding heated food to your little one.

Is there a way for me to know how long my food has been stored?

Yes, there’s a spot right on the back of the pouch for notes, where you can write the date, time and specific ingredients. This is also the best way to keep track of your food’s time in the fridge or freezer.

Are your products BPA free?

Yes and they are also phthalate and PVC free.

Can you press chunkier foods?

Nope, our pouches are designed to store blended, well-mashed or pureed food. You can also use them to store snack foods like yogurt, applesauce and fruit purees/smoothies.

When I pull my press out of the tube, it sucks the food back up.

Yes this will happen. The best thing to do is press your food, detach the tube from the bag with the press still down, cap bag and then pull the press out of the now detached tube.

When I use my reusable pouch I feel a lot of pressure and it won’t press.

The first thing to do is make sure you have unscrewed the spout slightly before pressing. This will allow the air to escape when filling. If this does not work please see “What do I do if food gets stuck in the press?”

What do I do if food gets stuck in the press?

Sometimes even the best mixer leaves a chunk behind. You’ll know this is the case if you are pressing and feel significant resistance. If you feel resistance, stop and unscrew the tube and pour puree back in the bowl. You will then either find the chunk lodged in the base of the tube or in the bowl. If in the bowl, remove it. If in the tube, use the force of the water from your sink to push it out.

When I push the press down and food squirts out of the top of the tube and not into the pouch…what am I doing wrong?

The first thing to do is make sure you have unscrewed the spout slightly before pressing. It could be that you are pushing the press down too quickly or the consistency of the food in the tube is too chunky.

Are your pouches safe for air travel?

Our pouches travel very nicely and it is a great design benefit. Please note that our pouches do not meet the minimum ounce requirement so you will have to proactively tell TSA you are carrying your baby’s homemade food. You may be asked to go through an additional screening once through security.

Where is your product made?

Our products are manufactured with certified and approved factories in Asia. Our products are tested by third-party, independently accredited testing laboratories. Infantino products meet or exceed all U.S. and International Safety Guidelines and Regulations.

Can you put the tubes and/or Squeeze Station in boiling water to sanitize?

No, our product was not designed to withstand the temperature of boiling water and it will damage the product.

Why can’t you reuse the plastic pouches?

We designed our pouches for easy and convenient use with no clean up required and easy disposability. However, we do offer a reusable silicone pouch.

What is your Fresh Squeeze pouch made of?

Our food pouches are BPA free, PVC free, lead free. Our single-use squeeze pouches are made of PET/Nylon/PE. Our reusable pouch is made from silicone.

Do the Fresh Squeezed Squeeze Pouches go through a sterilization process?

Theses pouches are made in a controlled, clean, manufacturing environment using only approved pure materials. Then they are sealed in a poly bag to ensure cleanliness.

How much does the Fresh Squeeze Pouch hold?

The Fresh Squeeze Food Pouch holds approximately 4 oz. of homemade semi-solid puree.
